Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I help DIY renovators save time by providing reviews, How TOs, Inspiration and product ideas. Encouraging others to take on big projects and big dreams.

ORC Week 3- CHEVRON FLOORING HELL

ORC Week 3- CHEVRON FLOORING HELL

OOOoooh Nooo! We are in Chevron flooring hell! It's a pretty complicated task and I can't say we are loving it. Definitely the hardest flooring project I've ever taken on.

Tuck did his best to help:

But even he gave up:

Also, why do toddlers want to sit on the scariest things?

Soooo we are getting weird gaps, I'm not a perfectionist at all. Actually one of my biggest flaws is I love getting lots of stuff finished but don't enjoy the process. I can accept some level of un-perfectness with DIY projects, it comes with the territory. This is always the biggest fight between my husband and me, he wants perfection and I'm good so long as it looks good when I look at it. Even I don't think this is going well.

Which means:

Re-work... Ughhhh....

I hate re-work... nothing feels worse than having to go backward in your reno but it happens to the best of us. We even asked our contractor to finish the floors but he's too busy and gently laughed at us for taking on such a technical project.

Good Things That Happened!

We got our rug and leather chair and absolutely love them!

Reality....

Reality is sometimes you get tired during your reno and you have to stop for a bit. So we are taking a break this weekend from doing the floors and we moved our couch and rug back in and living in our half finished space.

Oh well.. life's not perfect but this sweet monster sleeping sure makes it worth it.
